Often when I host a conversation about unity with a new group, I find that quite a few people put their effort into determining their separation from unity, source, God, or whatever name you are using for yourself.
It usually follows with something like, “This is not unity. I am not already in unity. I need to find it by meditating or having an enlightening experience.” Now you tell me Gilad, how can a person who believes that This is not unity find unity? Can you find love while you think you are hateful? Is it a process of finding or dissolving the belief in separation or hate?
Separation is a belief; therefore, no form of doing will bring unity. If you take a moment to think about it more deeply, it is somewhat ridiculous to believe that unity would be bound to one person’s actions. In the same way that space isn’t bound to the function of one existing form within it, unity isn’t bound to the function of one person within it. All forms exist in sapce and all people exist in unity.
Seeking unity or thinking that This is not already unity is just a nicer way of saying, “I fight for my separateness.” It’s like going into combat while claiming, “I seek peace.”
Combat doesn’t bring peace and seeking doesn’t bring unity.
One is the mind’s way of fighting for the belief in separation of the country it resides in.
The other is the mind’s way of fighting for the belief in separation of the body it resides in.
With heart,
